Welcome to Tier 2 of my recommendations for healthy, productive, super awesome relationships. I highly recommend each of these products and services.
Powerful Non-Defensive Communication
Sharon Strand Ellison has deep insight into the basic structure of how human’s communicate, and in her clear, articulate writings and talks, makes that insight available to us for immediate implementation. Her parenting audio book, Taking the Power Struggle Out of Parenting, is priceless. Also, check out her YouTube channel.

The Multi-Orgasmic Couple, by Chia & Abrams
Don’t be fooled by the fun title: this book is serious, and if given the chance, can revolutionize not only your romantic relationship, but your life. Personally, it’s a fairly recent discovery. However, I know enough about subtle body building to recognize sheer gold when I see it. Don’t think in terms of mere sex; think in terms of your quality of life, including energy level, stress level, and self-esteem. I’d venture to say that learning these techniques (slightly esoteric, but totally accessible) will increase your sensitivity to all forms of life, which is what happens when you up your ability to perceive subtle energies. Oh, and if you’re single, they have you covered, too!
Wired for Love, by Stan Tatkin
I’ll just start with the very long and descriptive subtitle: “How understanding your partner’s brain and attachment style can help you diffuse conflict and help build a secure relationship.” At first I presumed this book was cheep, pop-psychology, but then I really got into it, and found myself repeating key learnings to friends and family. It’s super user-friendly, and helps you get a realistic view on your relationship. The author outlines in great detail what works and what doesn’t work, with lots of examples. If you’re looking for a good place to start, this is a top-pick. If you’re already pretty schooled in relationship stuff, this book will genuinely add value to your knowledge.
Eckhart Tolle on Relationships
In The Power of Now, Eckhart includes a chapter called “Enlightened Relationships.” I included a quote from this chapter on my online dating profile through which I met my partner. I’ll share it with you below:
If you continue to pursue the goal of salvation through a relationship, you will be disillusioned again and again. But if you accept that the relationship is here to make you conscious instead of happy, then the relationship will offer you salvation, and you will be aligning yourself with the higher consciousness that wants to be born into this world. pg 132
Other sections of this chapter include: “Love/Hate Relationships”; “From Addictive to Enlightened Relationships”; and “Relationships as Spiritual Practice.”
